Competition change: “Of course we want to play the Champions League. It’s the Ajax scenario. But European football is European football and it’s a great opportunity to show us again to Europe and the rest of the world. If you’re hungry, you can do a great campaign. Ajax showed it in 2017 when they reached the final of the Europa League. “Onana’s loss to Getafe: “For me he is the best in the world and, of course, we will miss him. But Bruno Varela is also good, as we see him every day during training. We have faith in him, he was Benfica’s goalkeeper and has qualities to help us against Getafe. “Triplet: “It is our goal. Ajax always strives to reach as high as possible. And after the elimination in the Champions League, we are now going for the League, Cup and Europa League. It would be great to give that to the fans. It is not easy, but we are striving step by step “.Margin of personal improvement: “Of course I can do better, but that applies to everyone. Last season was excellent for the whole team and for me. Consequently, people can have even higher expectations of me. With 9 goals and 14 assists, I don’t have such bad statistics, but I don’t give that much value. I want to be important to my teammates and sometimes that is possible without goals or assists. “Ziyech to Chelsea: “I know from my own experience that the Premier League is a difficult competition. But I hope and I hope it succeeds because it is a player with quality. In Chelsea I think it can fit well, because it is a team that is going to attack. Ziyech It stands out like this. I hope we can give it a good farewell with three titles. “ Dusan Tadic, rival of Getafe in the round of 16 of the Europa League, it has been one of the big names that has sounded to reinforce the Barcelona in the last winter market due to the injury of Luis Suárez. Finally, the technical secretariat decided not to undertake any operation, although Dembélé’s injury again disrupted the plans and caused the signing of Martin Braithwaite. Although there was no purchase in January, that does not imply that there were no contacts with different players and clubs. In fact, Ajax striker has confirmed that there was interest in an interview to From Telegraaf.Signing for Barcelona: “I was not surprised that they wanted to sign me for six months because I believe in myself and I have had an excellent season. But I have said hundreds of times that Ajax is my club and that there was no reason to leave, because I have everything I want here and contract until 2026 “. Favoritism before Getafe: “It’s difficult because we are talking about the current third in Spain. But according to what we showed in the Champions League last year and this season we are slightly favorites. Although we have a different team than last season, we miss De Ligt and De Jong It is not an 80-20% proportion of favoritism, but rather 55-45%. “Bordalás football: “Getafe has a very specific way of playing. They make it difficult for the teams. We have to keep calm and try to play our own game. From our strength and without letting Getafe impose theirs. We have the referee to determine the limit, but we will also have to look for it. “
Prosecutors and defense attorneys yesterday completed the selection of credible men and women who will decide whether Margertta Dorbor stole US$22,567 and LD$288,690 from the Liberia Bank for Development and Investment (LBDI).Dorbor, a former employee of the bank could face a long prison sentence if found guilty, as Judge Peter Gbeneweleh of Criminal Court ‘C’ yesterday managed the lengthy process which led to the selection of 6 impartial jurors and three alternates from an initial pool of about 100 persons.Prosecutors have brought charges against defendant Dorbor in connection with the 2010 robbery at the bank.A staff of the bank’s Gardnersville branch, Ms. Dorbor also faces dozens of other charges including theft of property, forgery and counterfeiting.Dorbor has pleaded not guilty.Attorneys on Wednesday questioned individual potential jurors who have already passed a lengthy written questionnaire to determine whether the intense media interest in the case has affected their ability to reach an impartial verdict.Opening arguments will resume today, Thursday, February 19.”My job is to apply the law and ensure that justice is done and you are to look at the facts that would be presented during the trial,” Judge Gbeneweleh told a small group of prospective jurors. “I remind you that Dorbor remains innocent.”In court, Dorbor appeared as though she did not care about the prospective jurors who hold her fate in their hands.Wearing a gray long skirt and gray-stripped blouse, she sat on a bench behind her defense team, continuously looking around the courtroom or at the dozens of people sitting a few feet away.In this trial, jurors will first determine Dorbor’s guilt or innocence on dozens of charges. If she is convicted of any theft charges, the same jurors will then separately decide whether she should be sent to long term imprisonment in their moral decision. In December 2010, Ms. Gloria Menjor, General Manager of the bank, accused Dorbor of filling in a withdrawal slip for US$70,000 in the name of Gardnersville People’s Saving Club and diverting said amount to her personal use without the knowledge and consent of the account holder. She said the scheme was discovered during an audit of the bank’s Gardnersville branch where the defendant was assigned.Contrary to Dorbor’s denial of her involvement, the bank’s general manager insisted that Dorbor admitted withdrawing the amount from the account of the Club and she refunded it paying US$1,000 to the LBDI management for which a receipt was allegedly issued to her.Ms. Menjor also alleged that during the audit, the auditor discovered 200 pieces of US$100 counterfeit bills in a bag owned by defendant Dorbor.Share this:Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)

He feels he has the depth to get through the six games before Christmas despite being forced to play an unfit Dejan Lovren in defence after Ragnar Klavan pulled out through illness.“I’m happy about the options we have,” said the German after a victory that lifted Liverpool to fifth place in the Premier League table.“Ragnar Klavan was ill and Dejan Lovren not fit. If ‘Raggy’ was fit, Dejan Lovren would not have been in the squad, but he started.“We have options to change it. Adam Lallana is not fit for another three or four days, but I’m happy about our options.”Klopp saw Mane open the scoring before Salah stepped off the bench to score twice and take his tally for the season to 17 goals in all competitions. He also handed a full Premier League debut to teenage striker Dominic Solanke, who was recently capped by England for the first time.– Hughes castigates officials –Liverpool’s manager Jurgen Klopp celebrates at the end of their English Premier League match against Stoke City, at the Bet365 Stadium in Stoke-on-Trent, on November 29, 2017 © AFP / Geoff CADDICK“Thank God Salah keeps scoring,” said Klopp of the Egypt forward, who is the Premier League’s leading scorer with 12 goals.“It’s good. It was difficult for all the players coming on in these (cold) temperatures. Sitting on the bench is not too nice, but it worked really well with two fantastic goals.“It was good for Mane. Now he needs rhythm. We all know with him in one or two situations if he is in a ‘click’ moment he can score as well in these situations, but it’s all good.“Dominic should have scored. He is a fantastic boy, it was well deserved and I am really happy we could do that for him in this situation.“He can improve in pretty much everything, but he is already a very good player so that is the good news. He has to work like all the others, but everybody who is with England thought, ‘That is good.’”Stoke manager Mark Hughes was understandably furious that Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet was not sent off for tripping Mame Biram Diouf on the edge of the box just before half-time.With his team having won just twice in 13 games in all competitions, Hughes is under increasing scrutiny.“It’s frustrating,” said the Welshman, whose side fell to 16th place.“The one thing you want from referees and officials is to get the big, key decisions right — the match-defining decisions — and he didn’t.“Credit to Liverpool, they’re a very strong side. Look at the talent they had on the pitch and they had the luxury of being able to bring a lot of talent off the bench as well.“We’re disappointed that we lost 3-0, but you need the officials to help you sometimes against the big clubs.”0Shares0000(Visited 1 times, 1 visits today)
1 Stoke boss Mark Hughes hasn’t given up hope of signing Liverpool winger Oussama Assaidi. The Morocco international spent last season on loan at the Britannia Stadium and Hughes is keen to bring the winger back on a permanent deal.Initially the Reds’ asking price of £7million was perceived to be a stumbling block and then reports emerged over the weekend that the player’s wage demands were an issue. However, Hughes remains hopeful an agreement can be reached.“It’s on-going and these things happen. Everybody knows we are interested and that is still the case,” he told The Sentinel. Liverpool winger Oussama Assaidi
1 Everton and England centre-back John Stones remains a top summer target for Chelsea, despite his struggle for form this season. It is understood incoming Blues boss Antonio Conte wants to make Stones, whose performance in Wednesday’s 4-0 loss to Liverpool intensified the unwanted spotlight on the youngster , his first signing when he arrives at Stamford Bridge. The 21-year-old was pursued by ex-Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho last summer, but the Premier League giants had three bids – with the third and final offer in excess of £30million – but the Toffees rejected their advances. And Chelsea, who considered signing Stones from Barnsley before his move to Goodison Park in early 2013, may revive their interest when the summer window opens.Stones was targeted by the club as a long-term successor to captain John Terry, who is out of contract at the end of the season. And now Conte appears set to continue the pursuit, which could put Terry’s long-term future at the club in jeopardy. The 35-year-old is out of contract this summer and revealed in January he would be leaving the Blues, though the London side maintain the offer of a new one-year deal could be on the table before the end of the season and Conte will have a major say.Everton striker Romelu Lukaku has also been linked with a return to Stamford Bridge following his impressive form since moving to the Toffees. The Blues sold the Belgium striker for £28m in July 2014 and it has been reported double that fee might be required to prise him from Goodison Park. And reports on Friday claim owner Roman Abramovich has sanctioned a £90m double move to land both Everton stars in the summer transfer window. Gardai were called after landlord Peter O’Donnell was assaulted in the early hours of October 13th, 2011.Mr O’Donnell visited the house after neighbours complained of noise but when he arrived he was assaulted. He contacted Gardai but when they arrived, they found a group of young people locked into the house. When Gardai tried to gain entry they were forced to run for cover when they were pelted with bottles, cans and pieces of furniture.Furniture was thrown out onto the streetOne man hung dangerously from a window of the upstairs part of the three storey dwelling.Up to 20 Gardai using shields and riot gear eventually gained entry to the premises.Inside they found thirteen people including three females, one of whom was a juvenile.Letterkenny Circuit Court heard yesterday how both men had previous convictions for public order offences.McClelland, who was only released from prison in the summer after serving two years, has 40 previous convictions. However the court heard that the father-of-one from Manor View, Letterkenny, started a cookery course in prison and is now attending the Killybegs College of Catering.McLaughlin, who had seven previous convictions, told the court he was sorry for his part in the riot and his barrister pleaded for one last chance for his client.Judge John O’Hagan said it was very lucky that none of the Gardai carrying out their duty were injured in what became a riot situation. He said he had been asked to give the men a last chance but stated they have already had them.He sentenced McLaughlin to 18 months in prison and also gave McLelland the same sentence but suspended the last three months because of his efforts in returning to college.MEN JAILED AFTER ‘RIOT’ ON LETTERKENNY HOUSING ESTATE was last modified: November 1st, 2013 by StephenShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:CIRCUIT COURTEddie McLaughlinletterkennyMartin McClellandTHORNBERRY
9 Steps to A Greener CodeNew homes built using the 2009 International Residential Code (IRC) or International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) will be more energy efficient than ever. As a consequence, a builder’s world may become a bit more complex and, in some cases, a bit more expensive. Recent spikes in energy costs have increased the attention on regulatory measures that limit energy waste. STEP 5: INSULATING MASS WALLS (Section N1102.2.4)The code: Refined insulation standards have been applied to mass walls to increase their performance in both hot and cold climates. What it means to you: Code allows mass walls to be built to two different thermal-resistant standards based on the configuration of insulation in the assembly. The IRC classifies a mass wall as an above-grade wall made of concrete block, concrete, insulated concrete forms (ICF), masonry cavity, brick, earth, adobe, compressed-earth block, rammed earth, and solid timber/logs. Insulation installed on a mass wall creates what’s called “thermal lag.” The insulation increases the time it takes for hot or cold temperatures to transfer from the mass into the living space, reducing the strain on mechanical systems. Insulating the interior of a mass wall is more expensive because code requires a greater thermal resistance, which means more insulation. The 2009 building codes reflect practices that not only increase energy efficiency—air-sealing measures and increased insulation, for example—but also address sustainable building practices, such as moisture control.Other segments of this series:Part 1: Air SealingPart 2: InsulationPart 3: LightingPart 4: Programmable ThermostatsPart 5: Insulating Mass WallsPart 6: Efficient WindowsPart 7: Insulating Mechanical PipesPart 8: Exceeding the Energy CodePart 9: Vapor Retarders
Former Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio was declared winner from the Northern Angami-II Assembly constituency after his lone rival withdrew his nomination on Monday. This is the second such victory for Mr. Rio, currently Nagaland’s lone Lok Sabha member, in the space of 20 years. He won uncontested as a Congress candidate in 1998 when a boycott call made other parties shun the election.Pre-poll allianceThis time, he contested as a candidate of a new regional party, Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), which stitched together a pre-poll alliance with the BJP.“The NPF [Naga People’s Front] candidate withdrew his nomination today [Monday] and the only other candidate of the NDPP was declared winner,” Chief Electoral Officer Abhijit Sinha said.NPF spokesperson Sebastian Zumvu said the party was surprised by Mr. Angami’s decision. “But he must have realised his chances were very slim,” he said.BJP elatedLeaders of the NDPP and the BJP said Mr. Rio’s victory augured well for the alliance. “I did not expect victory to come so early. This has fuelled our confidence of a good show on February 27 [the day of polling],” Mr. Rio told The Hindu. He won the Lok Sabha polls in 2014 after serving as Nagaland’s Chief Minister for 11 years since 2003. But he made several attempts to return to State politics after anointing T.R. Zeliang as his successor.A power struggle saw Mr. Rio quit the NPF, the party he had formed along with Kewekhape Therie, now the State Congress president, and join the NDPP a few weeks ago.In 1998, Mr. Rio and Mr. Therie were among 43 Congress candidates who won the Assembly election unopposed. A similar situation happened in Arunachal Pradesh too. Of the 42 Congress candidates who won the 2014 Assembly elections in that State, 11 won it uncontested.
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar’s three-day Kolhapur tour last week saw bonhomie between him and Swabhimani Paksha leader and MP Raju Shetti, leading to rumours about new alliances against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) before elections. During a closed-door meet, Mr. Shetti reportedly invited Mr. Pawar to join him in another farmers’ protest on November 29-30 against the Modi government’s “anti-famer” policies in New Delhi.Mr. Pawar has allegedly backed Mr. Shetti’s candidature from the Hatkanangale Lok Sabha constituency in Kolhapur for the 2019 Parliamentary election. The move, however, has upset candidates within the NCP as well as the Congress in the Kolhapur-Sangli belt.Mr. Shetti, a two-time MP from Hatkanangale, was a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ally, who exited from the NDA in August last year. After winning the Shirol Assembly seat as an Independent in 2004, he trumped the NCP’s MP Nivedita Mane to win the Hatkanangale Lok Sabha constituency in Kolhapur in the 2009 Parliamentary poll. He defeated former Congress MP Kallapa in the 2014 Parliamentary election. “Ms. Mane and Mr. Awade have expressed their disapproval to Mr. Pawar in person over backing Mr. Shetti for the Hatkanangale seat,” said an NCP leader from Kolhapur. Before the last Parliamentary election, Mr. Shetti had hoped that allying with the BJP would help shake off Mr. Pawar’s yoke from the sugar belt.In February, Mr. Shetti had met Mr. Pawar in New Delhi. Mr. Shetti has launched milk blockades against the State BJP government and cranked up the pressure on sugar mill owners by demanding they pay up due arrears to farmers.A parallel rift within his own party ultimately led to the ouster of his one-time close aide, Sadabhau Khot from the Swabhimani Paksha in August last year. Mr. Khot, who is Minister of State (MoS) for Agriculture and Marketing in the Devendra Fadnavis-led cabinet, floated his own outfit, the ‘Rayat Kranti Sanghatana’ in Kolhapur. He has already announced his candidature for the Hatkanangale Lok Sabha seat.
