Anthony Davis will take the court at Smoothie King Center on Wednesday for the first time since being traded from the Pelicans to the Lakers this past offseason. He doesn’t expect a warm reception. The six-time All-Star forward left New Orleans on bad terms after derailing the team’s 2018-19 season with a trade request. Davis was often booed at home games despite still being a member of the Pelicans, and at one point he became so frustrated that he flipped off a fan as he was leaving the floor following the conclusion of an April game. Davis’ time with the Pelicans wasn’t all bad, of course — he developed into one of the NBA’s top players and established relationships that will last well beyond his basketball career. However, Davis understands those in attendance Wednesday night may only remember the recent breakup.MORE: When will Zion Williamson make his NBA debut?”When I go back, I’m gonna have mixed emotions,” Davis told The Athletic’s Shams Charania. “And it’s all because a great six-and-a-half years, and then that last half it was … I know the fans are gonna boo me — I got booed when I was still playing there — but it’s gonna be fun for me. Like man, it’s another game. I just wanna win a game.”Anthony Davis on his New Orleans return Wednesday and one thing he’d redo in final days as a Pelican: “That’s a game of the year for me. New Orleans is a part of me.” From my sit-down with the Lakers star on @Stadium. pic.twitter.com/Wjbw7RONLu— Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) November 26, 2019Winning hasn’t been much of a problem for the Lakers. With Davis and LeBron James leading the way, Los Angeles holds the league’s best record at 15-2 and brings an eight-game winning streak to New Orleans. The Pelicans (6-11), meanwhile, have been dealing with multiple injuries and are simply fighting to stay alive in the Western Conference playoff race. Can the Pels spoil Davis’ return? Facebook58Tweet0Pin0Submitted by Capital Medical CenterCapital Medical Center is excited to announce installation later this month of a new, state-of-the-art 3D mammography machine that will provide improved patient comfort and superior diagnostic accuracy in an effort to contribute to the breast health of our community.Photo courtesy: Capital Medical CenterThe installation is scheduled to begin December 27 and be available and open to patients starting on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at the Capital Mammography Center (3920 Capital Mall Dr. SW, Ste. 401).During the installation downtime, breast ultrasound and bone density offerings at the Center will be unaffected. The new machine is the only FDA-approved 3D mammography machine that delivers at the same low dose as current 2D full-field digital mammography, resulting in an exceptionally sharp and detailed picture for breast cancer detection and diagnosis. It also features elements made to be inviting and more comfortable than 2D traditional machines.“This machine was designed by women for women,” notes Mardi Folsom, Lead Mammography/Ultrasonographer, Capital Mammography at Capital Medical Center.“It’s designed to pick up smaller cancers more efficiently that can lead to better health for our mothers, daughters and sisters.”3D mammography exams are clinically proven to significantly increase the detection of breast cancers, and also help decrease the number of women asked to return for additional testing.Traditional 2D mammography may feature overlapping tissue – which is a leading reason why small breast cancers may be missed and normal tissue may appear abnormal, leading to unnecessary callbacks. A 3D method of imaging can greatly reduce the tissue overlap effect. This installation is part of Capital Medical Center’s continuing commitment to superior breast cancer detection and has the potential to increase screening volume and compliance for the countless women who have reported avoiding regular mammograms due in large part to the fear of discomfort associated with breast compression.Folsom reminds that one in eight women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime.“Early detection is huge,” Folsom adds. “Mammograms are a critical part of maintaining a healthy life, to detect cancers in the breast at an early stage when it’s easier to treat.“We are all on this journey together to tackle breast cancer,” she says. “We are in it for ourselves, our friends, our sisters, moms, daughters and our future.”To schedule a 3D mammogram at Capital’s Mammography Center, call us at (360) 704-4750. Walk-ins are also welcome.

Enroll Now for Free Free Workshop | August 28: Get Better Engagement and Build Trust With Customers Now China and “probably one or two” other countries have the ability to invade and possibly shut down computer systems of U.S. power utilities, aviation networks and financial companies, Admiral Mike Rogers, the director of the U.S. National Security Agency, said on Thursday.Testifying to the House of Representatives Intelligence Committee on cyber threats, Rogers said digital attackers have been able to penetrate such systems and perform “reconnaissance” missions to determine how the networks are put together.”What concerns us is that access, that capability, can be used by nation-states, groups or individuals to take down that capability,” he said.Rogers said China was one of the countries with that capability, but that there were others.”There’s probably one or two others,” he said, declining to elaborate in a public setting.Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said the Chinese government “forbids” cyber hacking and that it is often a victim of such attacks that originate from the United States.”The Chinese government resolutely cracks down on these activities. This reality is irrefutable,” Hong told reporters at a regular press briefing on Friday.Rogers testified two days after a bill to overhaul the NSA’s bulk collection of telephone records failed in the Senate. Privacy advocates will probably now have to start over to pass a law to reform U.S. surveillance rules. He said at the hearing that telephone companies are still providing those records to the NSA, but under stricter rules than when the program was exposed in 2013 by former contractor Edward Snowden.Rogers said the agency, anticipating passage of a new law, would wait before moving forward with technological changes. He said the agency, and telephone companies, would rather wait and see what might be included in any new law.(Reporting by Patricia Zengerle; Editing by David Gregorio) 2 min read This story originally appeared on Reuters This hands-on workshop will give you the tools to authentically connect with an increasingly skeptical online audience. This Tuesday, Microsoft announced .NET Core 3 Preview 2 with new features in .NET Core 3 and C# 8. C# 8 The eighth iteration of C# is a major release and includes many new features. Declarations Statements don’t need to be indented now. Switch expressions C# 8 comes with switch expressions in which you can use the new syntax. Terser syntax returns a value as it is an expression. It’s fully integrated with pattern matching. Async streams The compiler and framework libraries should match correctly for async streams to work. You will need .NET Core 3.0 Preview 2 and Visual Studio 2019 Preview 2. Alternatively, you can also use the C# extension for Visual Studio Code. Floating point improvements in IEEE The goal is to expose all operations that are needed and they are behaviorally compliant with the IEEE spec. A fast in-box JSON Writer & JSON document Two new objects were added—System.Text.Json.Utf8JsonWriter and System.Text.Json.JsonDocument. Utf8JsonWriter The Utf8JsonWriter enables a high-performance, non-cached way to write UTF-8 encoded JSON text from common .NET types. JsonDocument System.Text.Json.JsonDocument is also added built on top of the Utf8JsonReader. JsonDocument provides enables parsing JSON data and builds a read-only Document Object Model (DOM). It can be queried to support enumeration and random access. Assembly Unloadability Assembly unloadability is a new ability of AssemblyLoaderContext. It is transparent and exposed with only a few new APIs. A loader context to be unloaded with this. This releases all of the memory for static fields, instantiated types, and the assembly itself. Visual Studio support Using .NET Core 3 for development requires using Visual Studio 2019. WPF and Windows Forms templates were added to the New Project Dialog for easier access via the command line.
